Wow, another year down. To say this last year flew by would be an understatement! Between listing my house for sale, having that sale fall through, my parents moving to Tennessee and shooting more than twice the weddings I did last year and becoming far more active with my website I feel like the year was one for the books. So lets touch back on the things that happened in 2016 shall we?

One of the cool opportunities I get as a wedding photographer, is working with people that I've known for a long time. Jessica here, is the daughter of one of my father's high school friends. I've known her longer than most other people in my life and despite not being a blood relative, she might as well be my cousin. When I found out that she had a guy in her life and a little one on the way I jumped at the opportunity to photograph the two of them. Then, I found out that we were going to photograph their engagement session at the Kent State University Airport. How cool, right? We literally photographed on a runway...

Some of you may recognize this couple. I photographed their engagement in downtown Frederick last Winter. You can check out that blog post here Ashley and Josh's Engagement. Well they had such a good time with me they brought me around for their wedding too. Thankfully, this time the weather was so perfect the day seemed to stretch on forever in one of those perfectly blissful warm Fall afternoons.

Sam and Mike got married this last summer almost when that CRAZY storm wiped out most of Ellicott City. Safely nestled up on a hill, overlooking the city, is the Patapsco Female Institute. Its the shell of a old school that's been renovated and turned into an open air venue. Does that make it "old-school cool"? Dad jokes aside, it's a beautiful wedding venue and these two filled it with love. Their gorgeous wedding matched the colors of the Institute and it couldn't have been more perfect. Samantha's family even managed to get her dad's old convertible up and running just for the wedding.

In the off chance you'd forgotten (because, like me, you're bundled up, shivering over your 3rd cup of hot coffee), this last summer was blazing hot. Like tar bubbles and cooking eggs on the hood of your car hot. The day that these two got married, it was 102 at the peak and cooled down to 95 by the time they had their sparkler exit. I use the term, "cooled down", lightly. Despite me melting, these two kept cool and looked amazing on their wedding day; must have been that Air Force training that they'd received.
Read MoreMary and Steve's Eastern Shore Engagement
This couple here, Mary and Steve, or Molly and Steve depending on who you ask (full story on that in their wedding blog post to come) are amazing. These two keep it hot, so much so that Steve is actually a fireman and Mary, an EMT to help treat those burn wounds. For their engagement session, they had me out to their freaking amazing house right on the freaking amazing water on a freaking amazing day to take freaking amazing photos. Oh, and they gave me beer. This has to be one of my favorite engagement sessions to date. Hanging out with two really chill and very down to earth people, drinking beer and taking beautiful photographs. What more could you ask for?

Well damn it's hot outside. Figured you could use something to remind you of cooler times; I know I could. I was fortunate enough to go to college with both Josh and Ashley and have known them for many years. While hanging out and putting back a few beers they asked me to photograph their engagement in Downtown Frederick back in February. Well in truth they asked me to photograph their wedding but I convinced them that an engagement shoot is always worth it.

So you've spoken with a few wedding photographers while trying to figure out who is going to capture your day. They've replied with a lot of "Oh. My. God. I. Just. Love. [fill in the blank]" and "Oh sweetheart, I'm just so excited and I just love you guys already and [drooly over the top could possibly be covered in glitter if it were possible to email glitter exaggeration]"...... It all comes off as a little much right? Seems like it might be over the top? Is this person really like this in person?
Bull Shit.
Read MoreJessica and Jacob's Baltimore Engagement
These two met back in there college days at University of Baltimore (circa 2011) when they were both a part of the SGA. They may have butted heads at first, mostly Jessica rejecting Jacob, but fate prevailed when she was tasked with drunk-sitting her future husband. I do mean future husband because it was at this moment that Jacob asked Jessica to marry him for the first time (no seriously, he did, they told me). With lots of laughs and many years later Jacob finally popped the question for real and for obvious reasons Jessica said yes.

Well damn... guess that's a wrap for 2015 huh? What a crazy little year I had. Shot a ton of weddings, met a ton of awesome people, and all the other nonsense that happened. Lets recap all of the "other nonsense" and some of the other shit that went down. Then we can look forward to the FUTURE (or next week since that's when 2016 happens).
