So here we are, post-COVID quarantine. I know many of you (myself included) have had to plan and re-plan our weddings. Personally I’m on plan D, but its going to be great. Cassie and Mike made it through with plan C but it required some last minute jostling and rearranging to make sure their wedding and reception could still happen safely and legally in this post-quarantine reality. I know that planning a wedding in Baltimore City has been challenging with the differences in restrictions between the state and downtown. The good news is (as of writing this) a lot of the restrictions have been loosened.

A few warmer months back, I had the opportunity to meet Kate and Kevin in the Inner Harbor of downtown Baltimore for their engagement photos. We got down there bright and early to make sure the crowds would be limited and we could beat the heat (ended up being around 95 that day). Like the start to a romcom (which I could swear I’ve seen), Kate met Kevin while she was dating one of his fraternity brothers. Turned out that guy was a jerk and Kevin let him know it. These two hit it off almost immediately there after. Some time passed and Kevin finally proposed to Kate in the National Aquarium dolphin exhibit, right in front of the glass where you can see all the dolphins swimming by.

Well it was certainly chilly this morning. In the low 50s when I rolled out of the house on my way to Fells Point. Standing outside of The Daily Grind sipping on a red-eye and looking out over the Inner Harbor, I could not help but just feel the peace that Baltimore has in the early mornings. Beautiful mornings like this are made for engagement sessions. I knew that Jessica and Max's engagement photographs in Fells Point were going to be spectacular.

I've wanted to do an engagement photo shoot in Fells Point for quite a while now, Bethany and Mark gave me that chance. We met early on a BEAUTIFUL Sunday morning and proceeded to wonder around the cute historic residential area that surrounds one of my favorite neighborhoods to grab a drink, particularly a good beer (gotta love Max's Tap House). Bethany and Mark met while working for the same company a few years back.

Rainy days and great coffee, two of my favorite things. Unfortunately only one of them works well with photo shoots... Christine and Jeff met me at an awesome little coffee shop called the Bun Shop on one of Mount Vernon's quieter streets. While sitting around sipping amazing drinks (Vietnamese Coffee is now my absolute favorite, check it out) they told me their story.

Just prior to the 4th of July, James reaches out to me to set up a couples shoot for him and his wife. Little did I know at first there was a player 3 in this equation, their soon to be born son William. James and Margaret are an absolute blast to spend time with, both are so intelligent and have infectious laughs. We spent the early morning working our way around the Washington Monument in some truly beautiful weather.

There are some couples you meet who just click in your mind, 'yeah, it makes total sense those two are together'. Its as though the universe planned it that way. Sunny and Brain are very much one of those couples. They'd been dating for 5 years and wanted to have a couples shoot. Of course I'd do it. They even decided to bring along their dog Rufio (yes! he looks just like the character from Peter Pan). Day of the shoot comes along and Brian contacts me, "Hey, so I'm going to propose to Sunny tonight. Is that cool?" Obviously! I love getting the chance to photograph a wedding proposal. We formulated a plan and made it happen. I think it went well, how about you?
