So here we are, post-COVID quarantine. I know many of you (myself included) have had to plan and re-plan our weddings. Personally I’m on plan D, but its going to be great. Cassie and Mike made it through with plan C but it required some last minute jostling and rearranging to make sure their wedding and reception could still happen safely and legally in this post-quarantine reality. I know that planning a wedding in Baltimore City has been challenging with the differences in restrictions between the state and downtown. The good news is (as of writing this) a lot of the restrictions have been loosened.

Trying to do things in chronological order here. Cassie and Mike’s wedding day was just a week ago and I hadn’t blogged their stellar engagement photos yet. Last Fall the three of us met up at Loch Raven Reservoir when the leaves were at peak color.

So if you are looking for a place to get married, The Mansion at Valley Country Club is a great spot. You’ll notice they pop up on my blog a lot but there’s a reason for that; it’s just a really solid place to have your wedding and reception or one or both. The staff there are so easy to work with and its just a beautiful place to get married if you don’t necessarily want to be in downtown Baltimore City but you want to still enjoy the city.

I know, I know….It’s been a little quiet around here for the past year and a half. That’s on me and I’m sorry.

Nick and Nicole, got married at a lovely little church in the middle of no where up near the PA boarder. As those of you from Maryland know, the weather was all over the place. Their Summer wedding was one of the hottest and most humid day’s we’d experienced this year but you wouldn’t know it looking at this couple. After their wedding, the wedding party made its way to The Mansion at Valley Country Club for their cocktail hour and reception. If you’re looking for a lovely and intimate place to host your wedding and reception, I can’t recommend them enough. Their staff is accommodating and helpful beyond measure. Just let me say…the crab cakes are amazing.

There’s a few wedding venues in Maryland that just give me that “wedding magic” feel; Antrim 1844 is definitely one of those locations. With its historic architecture, stunning gardens, and classy decorating, Antrim 1844 allows its guests to get lost in the feeling of the day. Ame and her bridesmaids got ready for the wedding day in Antrim’s bridal suite while Jason and his grooms-people did their thing in the carriage house.

Good things are worth waiting for. It has been quite some time since I’ve shared a blog post, but I am really excited to share an engagement session I did with Sarah and Andrew in Fells Point and Henderson’s Wharf early one Summer morning.

A few warmer months back, I had the opportunity to meet Kate and Kevin in the Inner Harbor of downtown Baltimore for their engagement photos. We got down there bright and early to make sure the crowds would be limited and we could beat the heat (ended up being around 95 that day). Like the start to a romcom (which I could swear I’ve seen), Kate met Kevin while she was dating one of his fraternity brothers. Turned out that guy was a jerk and Kevin let him know it. These two hit it off almost immediately there after. Some time passed and Kevin finally proposed to Kate in the National Aquarium dolphin exhibit, right in front of the glass where you can see all the dolphins swimming by.

I met Krista and Cam through mutual friends. At the time I met them, I’d assumed they’d been together for years. These two just clicked in the way that only couples who have seen it all together can. Turns out, at that time they’d only been together a few years. I was so excited when they asked me to photograph their wedding and engagement. We got to do some really fun and different things with this engagement shoot like be on the roof of their building!

Let's be honest, cause that's what I do (overly so sometimes), there are a ton of wedding photographers. We are everywhere, like a plague of instagraming and pintresting fools, snapping away while gleefully gawking at the back of our cameras. If we did a physical weigh-in, it would definitely exceed a ton because there are SO freaking many of us. So what does that mean when you are looking at my work and considering hiring me versus the many other great options out there?
